The FTCE Reading K-12 Exam comprises approximately 120 multiple-choice questions across several core competencies. You will receive a test booklet and a separate answer sheet.
This exam encompasses 13 core competencies, each with between two and seven skill areas. Competencies are defined as areas of content knowledge, with skills being the behaviors that demonstrate those competencies. Each competency is assigned a percentage that represents the approximate proportion of test items in that content area compared to the total number of items on the exam. Question formats include direct questions, commands, sentence completion, and scenarios. Each question has four response options, which will be answered by bubbling in choice A, B, C, or D on the answer sheet.
