Passing the FTCE Guidance and Counseling PK-12 Exam is required for personnel who will be providing guidance and counseling services to students in elementary, middle, or high schools. This exam covers ten core competencies, each testing between two and eight skill areas. Each of these core competencies is assigned a percentage, which represents the proportion of test items in that area.

The FTCE Guidance and Counseling PK-12 Exam is comprised of approximately 120 multiple-choice questions, each with four answer options (A, B, C, or D). Question formats include direct questions, sentence completion, and scenarios. You will receive a test booklet and a separate bubble answer sheet.
