FTCE Agriculture Test

The FTCE Agriculture 6-12 Exam is required for those planning to become agriculture teachers. In order to pass this exam, you must demonstrate knowledge and skills in several core competencies.

This test has ten core competencies, which cover content knowledge and skills necessary to advance in this field. Content specialists have determined that these core competencies are representative of the knowledge that you must have to teach agriculture.

You will need to demonstrate knowledge of the following: (1) leadership, career opportunities, and employability skills; (2) animal science; (3) soil science; (4) plant science; (5) agricultural systems technology; (6) environmental sciences and natural resources; (7) agricultural business management, economics, and marketing; (8) agricultural department management and professional development; (9) biotechnology; and (10) food and science systems.

This FTCE Agriculture 6-12 Exam has approximately 120 questions, and each competency area is assigned a score percentage, which represents the proportion of test items in that content area compared to the overall number of test items. Question formats include direct questions, commands, sentence completion, graphics, and scenarios; and each question will have four possible response options (A, B, C, or D). You will receive a test booklet with a separate answer sheet, on which to bubble in the correct multiple-choice response.
